Therapy for Jewish Women

Coffee Table

Our Approach To Therapy

At Alloy Psychotherapy, we offer dedicated therapy tailored to Jewish women looking to make change, and explore their thoughts and feelings in a supportive space.

Tammy Traub, LMSW

Are you struggling with motherhood, marriage, depression, anxiety, self-criticism, perfectionism, body image concerns or dating?

I specialize in working with Jewish girls and women to find relief.

Therapy with someone that understands:

  • Has deep understanding of Jewish culture and religious practice

  • Is non-judgemental

  • Knows both English and Hebrew

  • Is a licensed professional

What does "culturally-sensitive" therapy for Jewish women actually look like in a session?

It means you don't have to spend your valuable time explaining the basics of your cultural background or identity. For example, it might mean exploring how family dynamics are influenced by religious expectations, discussing the complexity around community and holidays, or understanding how intergenerational narratives and experiences impact you today.

I'm not in a major crisis, but I often feel... stuck. Is therapy still for me?

Therapy is not exclusively for moments of crisis. It is also a powerful and proactive tool for personal growth, self-discovery, and navigating feelings of being "stuck."

How is talking to a therapist different from talking to a good friend?

While friends provide invaluable support, a therapist offers a confidential and impartial space focused entirely on you. Our conversations are guided by clinical training designed to help you see patterns, challenge assumptions, and build new coping skills without the competing needs or biases of a personal relationship. A therapist's role is to equip you with new tools, not just to offer advice. This professional boundary is what facilitates deep exploration and lasting change.
