About Psychotherapy

Individual Psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy, is a personalized and collaborative process where a therapist works with a client to address issues related to relationships, personality, emotions, and past experiences. Research demonstrates that a trusting, honest, and goal-oriented therapeutic relationship is the best predictor of improvement. Psychotherapy begins with an initial assessment, during which the therapist gathers detailed information about client history, presenting issues, and goals. At Alloy Psychotherapy, we primarily utilizes two modalities of psychotherapy: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy. CBT focuses on identifying and changing maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors, while PDT explores the influence of past experiences and unconscious processes on unhelpful interpersonal and intrapersonal patterns.

We believe that clinicians should cultivate a deep understanding of the issues they work with. Our practice includes specialists in anxiety, depression, trauma, anger issues, relationship issues, autism, parenting, and more. The therapy process is individualized and tailored to the specific needs of each client, adjusting according to progress, preferences, and changing needs.

Whether addressing specific psychological issues or enhancing overall well-being, individual psychotherapy can help you navigate the complexities of your inner world and build a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Group Psychotherapy

Group psychotherapy is a therapeutic process that leverages the interpersonal dynamics of a group setting to facilitate individual growth and relational change.

Being in Group offers a unique experience of connection and hope. Relating to other group members and seeing their progress can inspire confidence in one's own potential for change while diminishing feelings of isolation and shame. The Group experience allows members to try new ways of communicating without fear of judgement and to receive feedback on their interpersonal style. Many Group members find Group enhances their individual work on most presenting issues while also working wonderfully as a standalone option.

At Alloy Psychotherapy we currently offer the following groups: Anger Management, Men's Process Group, and a Meditation Group. Feel free to inquire about the times and costs of each.
